Start Small. Start Good!

Stock market trading requires you to make calculated moves, the ability to watch the market like a hawk and then take tough buy and sell decisions at the right time.

If you are a stock market beginner looking to start intraday trading, we have a mini guide for you that you can use to your profits -

Intraday is “within the day.” Thus it refers to the trade activity that is done by an individual during the market hours in one day. Intraday trading is all about scouting for names that can either move up or move down. If a stock is likely to move up, a trader buys low and sells high. On the other hand, if a share is expected to go down, a trader tends to short sell, which means sell high and buy low.

Start Small

A few good trades may have boosted your confidence but its still too soon. Don’t be very aggressive with your bets in the initial phase.Focus on a maximum of 1-2 stocks to start with. With time, the volume and the value should be increased. Starting small will allow you to make mistakes and increase your familiarity with how the market works so that you don’t make the same mistakes twice. Increase the trade volume gradually as your experience and risk appetite increases.

As smart investors, we should stay calm, assess the situation and make a decision that will benefit us in the long term. Never buy or sell with your emotions. Most stocks are under pressure selling right now, we need to be careful not to follow the crowd.

What we need to do is to select the best companies (stocks) and buy in stages.

We have compiled all the KLSE blue chips stocks, looking  at the dividend yield and some fundamental and technical evaluations.

So investors need to add some other investment that can possibly give higher dividend.

IS NOW THE TIME TO BUY?

Every market correction creates opportunity, and financial planners say this one will be no different.

If you have money that you’ve been holding on the sidelines while waiting for an opportunity to get into the market, this is probably that opportunity. The markets historically have always returned to normal and have paid handsomely to those who remained true to their plan.Stocks moved higher Tuesday as the Trump administration announced a stimulus package. Small investors have been told to sit tight, not to sell, stay the course, don’t panic. But now that we’re officially in a bear market thanks to coronavirus,

The RM20 Billion Economic Stimulus Package

The Malaysian Government will introduce the 2020 Economic Stimulus Package to ensure economic risks associated with the outbreak are effectively.Various strategies have been formulated to ensure that Malaysian economy remains on strong foundations.

Malaysia Government today revealed a RM20 billion package of tax reliefs and subsidies to stimulate the economy hit by the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. In his speech today, Interim Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Malaysia's stimulus package is anchored on three strategies namely mitigating impact of Covid-19, spurring rakyat centric economic growth and promoting quality investments.

For instance, to help ease the burden of companies affected by the virus, Bank Negara Malaysia will provide a special relief facility worth RM2 billion, particularly in the form of working capital for small and medium enterprises at an interest rate of 3.75%. Bank Simpanan Nasional will also allocate a RM200 million in microcredit facility offering an interest rate of 4% to affected businesses.
In addition, the approval process for existing loan funds will be further streamlined such as Bank Pembangunan’s tourism infrastructure fund of RM1.5 billion.

Ringgit High Against S'pore Dollar

The ringgit is trading below the 3.0 mark against the Singapore dollar today for the first time since February last year.

The ringgit appreciated to an intraday high of 2.9788 against the Singapore dollar — the strongest since Aug 14, 2018 when it traded at 2.9809 — before pulling back to 2.9901.
Year to date, the ringgit has appreciated about 1.7% against the Singapore dollar.
The Singapore dollar also headed south against the US dollar today, touching a four-month low of 1.37 to the greenback.

DOUBLE YOUR INCOME WITH VALUE INVESTING

The father of value investing, Benjamin Graham gave a great speech in 1963 that left a deep impression  -

The investor must recognize that there are uncertain and hence speculative elements in any policy he follows — even an all-Government-bond program. He must deal with these uncertainties by a policy of continuous compromise between bonds and common stocks, and by adequate diversification. He must make a strong effort to have more money invested in common stocks at lower market levels at least on the basis of the cost than at what he recognizes to be potentially high levels.

How to maximize returns -

When markets are cheap, you should maximize your stock exposure and when they turn expensive, you should maximize your bond exposure.

#1. INVEST IN BALANCED FUNDS
#2. INVEST IN UNDERVALUED STOCKS
#3. INVEST IN SAFE OPTIONS

#4. INVEST IN STOCKS LIKE A TRADER

Improve Your Trading with Bollinger Bands

Technical traders make trading decisions based on their price charts. Each technical trader is a bit different, but the strategies they use can be grouped into a few broad categories.

Indicator-based trading is relying on indicators to analyze the price and provide trade signals. Many indicators provide a specific trade signal which alerts the trade that now is the time to take a trade.

Bollinger Bands are a technical indicator developed by John Bollinger. The indicator forms a channel around the price movements of an asset. The channels are based on standard deviations and a moving average. Bollinger bands can help you establish a trend's direction, spot potential reversals and monitor volatility. All of this can help you make better trading decisions.

Day Trading Uptrends with Bollinger Bands:

Bollinger bands help assess how strongly an asset is rising (uptrend), and when the asset is potentially losing strength or reversing.
Here are three guidelines for using Bollinger Bands in an uptrend.
  • When the price is in a strong uptrend it will typically touch or run along the upper band during impulse waves higher. When it fails to do that it shows the uptrend may be losing momentum.
  • Even during an uptrend prices drop for periods of time, known as pullbacks. During an uptrend, if the price is moving strongly then pullback lows will typically occur near or above the moving average (middle) line. The pullback doesn't have to stall out near the middle line, but it does show strength if it does.
  • When the price is in a strong uptrend it shouldn't touch the lower band. If it does that's a warning sign of a reversal.

Day Trading Downtrends with Bollinger Bands:

Bollinger bands help assess how strongly an asset is falling (downtrend), and when the asset is potentially strengthening (to the upside) or reversing.
These three guidelines, similar to uptrend guidelines, can help use Bollinger Bands in a downtrend.
  • When the price is in a strong downtrend it will typically touch or run along the lower band during impulse waves lower. When it fails to do that it shows the downtrend may be losing momentum.
  • Even during a downtrend, prices may rally for periods of time, called pullbacks. During a downtrend, if the price is moving strongly lower then pullback highs will typically occur near or below the moving average (middle) line. The pullback doesn't have to stall out near the middle line, but it does show selling strength if it does.
  • When the price is in a strong downtrend it shouldn't touch the upper band. If it does that's a warning sign of a reversal.
Bollinger Bands can be combined with a trading strategy, though, such as the day trading stocks in two hours method.

The guidelines above are not a trading strategy on their own. A trading strategy requires entry points, exit points, and risk management, which we Provide to our clients. Know More.

Bursa Billionaires and Their Strategies

While the economy is confronting headwinds from various bearings, it is the enterprising soul of the rich that is giving some relief. By making administrations and items, they give business and add to the country's coffers by means of assessments. Obviously, en route, they additionally accumulate riches for themselves, which is the objective of each business person.

The 34 Bursa billionaires on our list have a combined wealth of RM115.133 bil, an amazing amount by local standards. It translates to about 27.5% of the country’s latest international reserves. To put their combined wealth in perspective, as of Oct 15, Bank Negara Malaysia had RM418 bil in international reserves, which can help the government finance 8.8 months of sustained imports. In comparison, the RM115.133 bil amassed by these billionaires can help sustain more than two months of imports for the entire nation!
